Linda was born May 24, 1947, in Fairfield to Bryan and Annabell (HAGANS) HOUSTON. She married Patrick "Pat" C. GRIDLEY on June 25, 1967, at the Free Methodist Church in Fairfield. They celebrated 45 years of marriage before he passed away December 11, 2012.

Linda worked at Universal, J&B Plastics and Sunshine Laundry Matt. After retiring from the Sunshine Laundry Matt in 1989, she spent her time raising Shawna and spending time with her other grandchildren daily. Linda's family was her world. She cherished family gatherings on her patio and would welcome anyone and everyone. Linda would do anything to get all her family together. She attended as many of her kids and grandkids school activities as she could. She was known to everyone as "Grandma Linda". Linda would meet at Riverside and have coffee with her brother John. She enjoyed bird watching and especially looking for Cardinals and Hummingbirds and working in her flower bed. Her inside interests were listening to 1570 (KCMD Radio) and watching Steve Harvey, Family Feud. Linda also took pride in doing her laundry and no one could do it better. Everyone would bring laundry to her if they had a stain and couldn't get it out.

Linda will be greatly missed by her children, Sherry (Michael) KAUFMAN, Donald GRIDLEY, Robert (Stephanie) GRIDLEY, Kimberly (Todd DURST) GRIDLEY and Shawna COOK all of Fairfield; 10 grandchildren, Travis, Justin (Felicia ELLIS) and Matthew (Chelsea HAYNES) KAUFMAN, Shawna COOK, Austin GRIDLEY, Bryana (Hunter COFFMAN) and Abbey (Nosti PAPAZOGLOU) GRIDLEY, Dylan, Destiny (Dallas PEEBLER) and Brooklyn GRIDLEY; 4 great-grandchildren, Ailinn & Unity KAUFMAN and Alexis and Ryan COOK, and one on the way; her brother, John COOK of Fairfield; sister, Joyce MORKIN Palmyra, MO; and brother-in-law, Jerry (Karen) GRIDLEY of Muscatine, IA.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Bryan and Annabell; husband, Pat; and her siblings, Nancy BILLINGSLEY, Howard COOK, Larry COOK and Delbert HOUSTON.
