ELIZABETH J. COOPER. Elizabeth J. Garmoe, daughter of Isaac and Mary Garmoe, was born at McConnellsburg, Bedford County, Penn., Apr. 24 1831, and departed this life Mar. 3 1916. At the age of 17 she came with her parents to Iowa. The family located near Fairfield. Dec. 6 1850 she was married to Calvin Cooper, who preceded her in death (Ledger Sept 28 1904). In 1852 they moved to Salem, Iowa. Here she spent the remainder of her life. Mother of six children; one died in infancy. Surviving are: Mrs. Mary E. Grim, Central Point, Ore.; F. Edwin, Prairie City, Iowa; Hiram C., Brighton, Iowa; Alice and Clara at home. Also one brother, Josiah Garmoe, Fairfield, Iowa; Mrs. Margaret McMurray, Burlington, Iowa. Methodist Church.....Interment in Salem Cemetery.
