Died Tuesday Night.

Lincoln COX passed away Tuesday evening about nine o'clock at his home on South Sixth street after a lingering illness.

Mr. COX was about forty-six years of age and is survived by his wife and two children. He has been a patient sufferer for over a year and death came as a welcome release from his suffering.

Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon at 3:30 o'clock at the home Rev. Louis Mendenhall conducted the last services.

Mrs. COX and children have the sympathies of the entire neighborhood in which they reside.

Lincoln COX died at his home on south sixth st Tuesday evening at 8 o'clock. He was about 46 years old and leaves a wife and two children. He was highly respected and the family have the symphathy (sic) of all. The funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon at 3;30 (sic) at the home conducted by Rev. L. Mendenhall.

A. L. COX Dead.

Abraham Lincoln COX died at his home in this city December 31st, after an illness of about sixteen months. Deceased was born in Henry county, August 3d, 1861, and came to Fairfield about thirty-five years ago. He leaves a wife and two children. Mr. COX was a good, upright man, and there are many friends who will sympathize with the family in its bereavement. Funeral services were held at the home January 1st, conducted by Rev. L. Mendenhall, and the body was laid to rest in the cemetery at this place.

This particular Abraham was a son of a Daniel COX, according to cemetery transcriber notes; there may be more than one Abraham L. COX in the area. While he was noted as being married his wife isn't mentioned by name in any of his obituaries, nor on his death certificate.
