Jess COOK Dies In Vets Hospital

Jess COOK, resident of Pittsburg, Iowa, and a former resident of Fairfield, passed away last night in the Veterans hospital at Iowa City (note: in Johnson Co., IA).

Last rites will be Thursday at 2 p.m. in the Burnett - Catcott funeral home in Keosauqua, and burial will be in Evergreen cemetery in Fairfield.

Jess COOK, 70, was born May 14, 1888, the son of the late John and Henrietta BROWN COOK. He lived in the Fairfield community for several years before moving to Van Buren county.

He is survived by his wife, the former Clara SKINNER, one brother, Charles COOK, Imperial, Calif.; and a number of nieces and nephews including Mrs. Richard HARNESS, Fairfield.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and several brothers and sisters.
