ENOCH RUGGLES
Mount Pleasant

Enoch RUGGLES, 92, of Mt. Pleasant passed away on Tuesday, January 12, 2021, at the Henry County Health Center in Mt. Pleasant (note: in Henry Co., IA) surrounded by his loving family.

Enoch was born June 7, 1928, at Ollie, Iowa, the son of Minor G. and Ressie (ESTES) RUGGLES. He graduated from Fairfield High School. He began his working career as a cabinet maker before his marriage. In 1947, he was introduced by a mutual friend to Eunice Marie GLENDENNING; they were united in marriage on August 29, 1948, at the First Baptist Church in Fairfield. She preceded him in death on January 2, 2021. They lived in Fairfield until Enoch enlisted in the United States Air Force in 1951. They were able to be together and spent time in Texas, Illinois and Florida. After his service years, they were blessed with two children, Randy and Ann. Enoch worked at the Ford Garage in Fairfield before opening G & R Auto Body with his brother-in-law, which he sold in 1972. He then opened Ruggles alignment in Mt. Pleasant until he retired in 2000. After his retirement, he began working for Murphy Funeral Home in Mt. Pleasant as a funeral associate, retiring at the age of 90. Enoch attended Calvary Baptist Church of Mt. Pleasant and was a member of the Gideon's International.

He is survived by his children, Randy (Carol) RUGGLES of Mt. Pleasant, Ann (Curt) TILLMAN of Rockford, Illinois; three grandchildren, Andrea, Lee and Josiah; two step-grandchildren, Ryan and Reed RUSSELL; two great-grandchildren, Callee and Enoch; and three step-great-grandchildren, Zach, Klair and Mary Rose RUSSELL.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Eunice; and two sisters, Lucille CHAPMAN and Philora Alda YARDLEY.

Private family services will be held at the Murphy Funeral Home of Mt. Pleasant with Reverend Earl Swigart officiating. Burial will follow in the Forest Home Cemetery in Mt. Pleasant (note: in Henry Co., IA) with Military Honors conducted by the Henry County Honor Guard. Friends may call from 2 to 5 p.m., on Sunday, January 17, 2021 at the Murphy Funeral Home. The family will not be present. Memorials may be directed to Calvary Baptist Church and Gideon's International in his memory.
