The death of Mrs. COLE, wife of Thomas COLE, of this city, occurred in Fairfield last Saturday. Mrs. COLE had been very low with consumption for some time and her death was no surprise to those who knew her condition. By her death several small children are left motherless. The funeral on Sunday was attended by a large number of people. Resolutions of condolence and of testimony to her worth as a woman were adopted by Fairfield Lodge, No. 52. A. O. U. W., as follows:

WHEREAS, It has pleased God to take from her work here below the wife of our esteemed brother, Thos. L. H. COLE, we desire to extend to him our warmest sympathy in his bereavement, and trust that he will find comfort and consolation in Him who doeth all things well. He has lost a loving wife, his children a kind mother, and friends and acquaintances a christian neighbor.

Resolved, That brother COLE has our deep and sincere sympathy in this irreparable loss in the famlly (sic) circle; that we extend to him and his afflicted children the consolation of our friendship, and express the hope that the bright future in the other and better world will reconcile them to this dispensation of an over-ruling Providence.

Resolved, That these resolutions be placed upon the records, a copy furnished to brother COLE, and that the city papers be requested to publish them.
