Flossie Lucile Long, 100, of Richland, died Sunday, June 12, 2005, at Jefferson County Hospital Living Care Center.

The funeral is scheduled at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at Gould Funeral Home in Richland, with the Rev. Harlan Van Voorst officiating. Burial will be in Elm Grove Cemetery in Washington, Iowa.

Visitation will begin at 4 p.m. Tuesday with family present from 6:30-8:30 p.m. at the funeral home.

Memorials have been established to Packwood Christian Church and Richland United Methodist Church. Memorials may be left at the funeral home or mailed to the attention of Jean Keller, 603 S. Sixth St., Fairfield 52556 or Barbara Nixon, 601 W. Monroe Ave., Fairfield 52556.

Mrs. Long was born Feb. 24, 1905, to Perry Wilbur and Augusta Lena Jacobs Davidson. She married Farrel Long Jan. 24, 1924, in Washington. He died Nov. 23, 1976.

She was raised in Washington County and attended country school. She worked at American Pearl Button Co. in Washington for many years.

She left Washington in 1939. She and her husband farmed the Packwood and Woolson area until 1973 when they retired and moved to Richland. She moved to the care center in 1994.

She was a member of Packwood Christian Church.

Survivors include many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; six brothers, Oral Davidson, Wilbur Davidson, Lloyd Davidson, Emmett Davidson, Harold "Bud" Davidson and infant brother Clark Davidson; five sisters, Mae Miller, Glenna Miller, Amy Williams, Delcie Earll and Iva Jacobs.
