Ryan Michael Shannan, 25, of Fort Madison, died Tuesday, June 7, 2005, at Great River Medical Center in West Burlington.

The funeral is scheduled for 11 a.m. Tuesday at Lunning Chapel in Burlington, with the Rev. William Porter officiating. Burial will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery in Burlington.

Visitation is scheduled to begin 8 a.m. Monday with family present from 5-8 p.m. at Lunning Chapel.

A memorial has been established.

Mr. Shannan was born Jan. 2, 1980, in Ottumwa, the son of Michael and Jewel Muldoon Shannan. He was raised by his father and stepmother Anne Shannan McNeill.

He was engaged to Amber McPherson of Fort Madison.

He worked as an operator at Winegard Co., for 2 1/2 years. He previously worked as a cook at Country Kitchen.

His hobbies included working on cars, listening to music, playing his guitar, reading and spending time with his children.

Survivors include his father and stepmother of Burlington; his mother of Prattville, Ala.; two daughters, Taylor Jewel Shannan of Burlington and Reese Michaela Shannan of Fort Madison; one son, Brenden Lee Shannan of Burlington; one stepdaughter, Andrea Moss; four brothers, Michael Shannan of Cedar Rapids, John Shannan, Matthew Shannan and Kaleb Shannan, all of Burlington; one sister, Misty Shannan of Mitchellville; one stepbrother, Joseph McNeill of Burlington; one grandmother, Doris Shannan Doulber of Las Vegas, Nev.

He was preceded in death by his grandfather, great-grandparents; and one brother in infancy.
