RUTH ANN McKEEHAN-JOHNSON

Ruth Ann McKEEHAN-JOHNSON 78, of Agency, formerly of the Lockridge and Mount Pleasant communities, entered into eternity on Dec. 8, 2020, at her home in Agency. She transitioned to her eternal home in heaven after a hard fight against brain cancer. The cancer never stole her joy for life. She marveled at God's blessings in that she experienced no pain until the very end.

Ruth Ann was born in Ottumwa, Iowa, on Jan 3, 1942, to Paul and Martha WRIGHT. She was raised in the Batavia area and attended school and the Gospel Light House Church. She was united in marriage to Larry McKEEHAN on May 27, 1967. Larry passed away on Sept. 10, 2013. She later married Roger JOHNSON in December 2015 in Agency.

She graduated from Indian Hills Community College as a licensed practical nurse in 1966. In 1987, she graduated from Southeastern Community College with a registered nurse degree. Throughout her nursing career, she worked at various nursing homes, but primarily at the Mount Pleasant Mental Health Institute and prison until she retired in 2001. She enjoyed a long career and appreciated the many friends she made there.

Throughout her life Ruth Ann sold different things, Sarah Coventry, Queens Way, Mary Kay and after retirement, she sold Ozark Insurance. She was very successful and won many sales awards. Ruth Ann loved to sing. hroughout (sic) her life, she sang with others in many different forms, most recently the Rhythm Rockers and the Agency United Methodist Church Choir. She also enjoyed attending Southern Gospel music concerts.

She enjoyed all types of travel, especially to Virginia, Texas, Arizona and Florida. She traveled to Egypt in 1998. She also voluteered for mission trips to Louisiana, helped with church camp, Vacation Bible School and organized Operation Shoe Box at her church. She supported gospel outreach and missions financially and prayerfully.

She is survived by her husband, Roger JOHNSON; and her two children, Larry K. (Denise) McKEEHAN, Jarrell, Texas, and Lanette (Patrick) HILLMAN, Charlottesville, Va.; her eight grandchildren, Katrina McKEEHAN, Mitchell HILLMAN (Vonne), Nicole McKEEHAN, Samantha MARCHETTI (Anthony), Marshall HILLMAN (Emily), Major HILLMAN, Miles HILLMAN and Jake KcKEEHAN; her 11 great-grandchildren; her sister, Pauline (Ray) RANGEN; and her sisters-in-law, Pauline SPEES and Darlene ROBERTS.

Ruth Ann was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Larry McKEEHAN; and infant daughter.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 12, at the Agency United Methodist Church in Agency with Pastor Kelly W. Peavey officiating. Burial will be in the Glasgow Cemetery. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at Murphy Funeral Home of Mt. Pleasant. The family will not be present. Memorials may be directed to Samaritans Purse and or to Hospice of Davis & Wapello Counties in her memory.
