Vernon as we all know had an ideal home life in which love reigned. He was in his nature generous and always had good neighbors whom he loved and who loved him in return. Everybody was his friend and he was a friend to everybody. He was a Christian and a member of the Methodist church. He was a Mason and a member of the order of Odd Fellows. He was held in esteem by the members of both orders. Why he should be called away when life offered so much and he was so greatly needed is a mystery but God called him and he answered the summons. He leaves a precious memory.
