Burk CHAMBERS Taken In Death

Elmer Burk CHAMBERS, 74, 201 W. Washington, died Tuesday at 4:15 p.m. at the Jefferson County hospital where he had been a patient for three days.

A retired painter and decorator, CHAMBERS had been in failing health for the past month. He had been a resident of Fairfield for 45 years.

Services will be held Friday at 1:30 p.m. at the Weston Behner Funeral home in charge of the Rev. J. Roland Crandall. Burial will be in Evergreen cemetery.

CHAMBERS was born March 4, 1886 at Rutledge, Mo., the son of George and Lizzie MATLICK CHAMBERS. He was married to Jennie L. GORRELL Aug. 28, 1920. He was a member of the Knights of Pythias lodge.

CHAMBERS is survived by his wife; one step-daughter, Mrs. Paul HANEY, Fairfield; and two grandchildren. Also surviving are a sister, Mrs. Mina McLELLAN, Porterville, Calif.; and a brother, Raymond CHAMBERS, Oakland , Calif. One brother and two sisters preceded him in death.
