Bertha M. CHACEY, 94, 1109 S. Third, died at 5 p.m. Thursday at the Manor House Nursing Home in Sigourney (note: in Keokuk Co., IA).
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the Raymond Funeral Home with the Rev. Clair Odell officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery.
Friends may call as they wish at the funeral home prior to the services.
Bertha M. CHACEY was born Sept. 23, 1888, near Richland. She was the daughter of Martin and Luzettie MOHLAND. She was married to Walter B. CHACEY on Jan. 3, 1918, at Ottumwa. He died Jan. 17, 1959.
Mrs. CHACEY spent most of her life in Jefferson County. She lived on a farm in northwest Jefferson County for 25 years, she lived near Lockridge for five years and moved to Fairfield in 1949. She will be remembered by a number of Fairfield residents as their baby sitter. She was a member of the United Methodist Church.
Survivors include a sister, Nora WONDERLICH, Des Moines, and nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by three brothers and one sister.
