Heart Attack Fatal To Former Fairfield Man

Word has been received of the sudden death of a former Fairfield resident, Lloyd CAVINESS, who passed away Wednesday of a heart attack at his home in East Moline, Ill.

The body is being shipped to Fairfield tonight for funeral services and burial.

Plan Saturday Services For Lloyd B. CAVINESS Former Fairfield Man

Funeral services for Lloyd B. CAVINESS, former resident, will be held at the Weston Behner funeral home Saturday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock, in charge of the Rev. M. C. Campbell. Burial will be in Evergreen cemetery.

Lloyd B. CAVINESS was born June 4, 1894 at Pleasant Plain, the son of Richard E. and Hattie DRAPER CAVINESS. He was married to Lillian HOOK of Pleasant Plain, May 10, 1914 and three children were born to this union. After the death of his wife in 1934, he married Mary CATHEY who survives, as do the children. He died of a heart attack Wednesday at his home in East Moline.

The Children are Lt. Donald G. CAVINESS, stationed at Fort Lewis, Washington; Mrs. Richard POHREN, E. Pleasant Plain, and Dale CAVINESS in the navy air force at Litchfield Park, Ariz.

CAVINESS was a resident of Fairfield for many years, moving to Illinois ten years ago. He is a member of the Moose lodge at Moline. When living here he was employed at Loudens for 12 years and belonged to the local national guard for five years.

Other survivors include a brother, Clark C. CAVINESS, Corydon; and two sisters, Mrs. May BANCROFT, Houston, Texas and Mrs. Walter SCHAFER of this city.

Out Of Town Relatives Attend CAVINESS Rites

Dale CAVINESS of Litchfield Park, Arizona, arrived by plane Sunday morning called here by the death of his father, Lloyd C. (sic - Lloyd B.) CAVINESS.

Others attending the funeral from out of town were Mrs. Joe GILLEARD of Mt. Union (the former Winnie Draper of Brighton); Mr. and Mrs. Jesse Mullin and family, Mt. Union; Roy CAVINESS, Ottumwa; Mrs. Roy Brooke, Albia; Mrs. Grace MURPHY and granddaughter, Linda CAVINESS.

MRS. CAVINESS TO LEAVE FOR MOLINE, ILLINOIS

Mrs. Mary CAVINESS will return Wednesday to Moline, Illinois, to store her property before going to Cedar Rapids to spend some time with her son and family. Later she will move to Nashville, Tennessee, to make her home with relatives.

Another son, Dale R. CAVINESS, of Phoenix, Arizona, will accompany her to Cedar Rapids for a few days visit. He will return Monday after a leave of absence from his naval base at Litchfield Park near Phoenix where he was stationed.
