Pioneer Resident Was Native of Ireland; Formerly Lived in BurlingtonCharles CARRIGAN, 95 years old, of Fairfield, Iowa, died at 9:20 o'clock yesterday morning in Mercy hospital, where he had been a patient for nearly three months.
A native of Ireland, Mr. CARRIGAN was born on December 29, 1828, and came to this country in 1854. He lived for about a year in Philadelphia and them came to Burlington, where he was a resident until moving to Fairfield in 1881, to take up farming.
He is survived by two sons, William CARRIGAN, of Albia, Iowa, and Charles CARRIGAN of Fairfield, a daughter, Sister Florentina of Washington, Ia., and a brother, John CARRIGAN, of Maine. His wife and one daughter receded (sic) him in death.
Funeral services will be held from St. Paul's Catholic church in Burlington, onday (sic) morning at 9 o'clock, the cortege leaving Prugh's chapel at 8:30. Afterwards the body will be taken to Fairfield for burial.
