NATIVE OF COUNTY DIED LAST NIGHT

Mrs. Alex CARMICHAEL, life time resident of Jefferson and Van Buren counties, passed away at her home about nine miles southwest of Fairfield last night after several years illness. Death came at 9:30 p.m.

Elizabeth Leona CARMICHEAL (sic) was born November 28, 1869 at Glasgow, in Jefferson county, the daughter of the late Peter and Christina HISEL. She had lived at the home where she died for the past 19 years. Mrs. CARMICHAEL suffered a stroke 13 years ago and had been an invalid for the past six years.

Besides her husband, she is survived by the following children: Mrs. Clare BUCHANAN, Kansas City; Ralph CARMICHEAL, Birmingham; and Mrs. Jennie NELSON, Oak Park, Ill. She is also survived by two brothers, John HISEL, Grinnell; Lewis HISEL, Stockport; three sisters, Mrs. Mary PARKER, Grinnell; Mrs. Grace KELLER, Fairfield; Mrs. Jennie SAMUELSON, Fairfield; eight grandchildren, and one great-grandson.

The body was taken to the Hoskins funeral home where funeral arrangements are pending arrival of relatives.

Services Sunday For Mrs. Alex CARMICHAEL

Funeral services for Mrs. Alex CARMICHAEL, who passed away at her home nine miles wouthwest of Fairfield Thursday night, will be held tomorrow afternoon, Dec. 19 at 1:30 o'clock at the Hoskins funeral home in Fairfield.

Dr. H. C. Whiting will be in charge of the services and burial will take place at the Evergreen cemetery.
