Mrs. CARLSON, 88, Taken In Death

Mrs. Edith Marie CARLSON, 88, died Sunday at 6:45 p.m. at the Nelson Nursing Home. She had been a resident of Fairfield for 65 years.

The former Edith Marie JOHNSON, Mrs. CARLSON was born in Sweden April 23, 1878. She was married to Gus CARLSON Sept. 10, 1898 in Fairfield. Her husband preceded her in death in 1940.

Mrs. JOHNSON is survived by one son, Tilford CARLSON, Alhambra, Calif.; and two stepchildren, Walter CARLSON, Chicago, Ill.; and Mrs. Elearnora GAUMER, Moline, Ill.

Also surviving are three grandchildren, four step grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and eight step great-grandchildren.

Services will be held Wednesday at 10:30 p.m. (sic) at the Raymond Funeral Home in charge of the Rev. Donald Hickman. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery.

One son preceded her in death.
