Retired Farmer taken by death
Funeral services for George Hidy 80 year-old Longmont farmer, who died in a Boulder hospital Monday evening, will be held Friday at 3:30 p.m. from Lewellen Funeral Home.
Rev. Donald J Grooters will officiate. Interment will be in Mountain View Cemetery.
Mr. Hidy, whose home was at 518 Kimbark street, was born at Fairfield, Iowa, April 21, 1875; He farmed near Greeley from 1918 to 1935, then owned and operated the Berthoud Dale cabins near Estes about five years.
After he disposed of the cabins he retired and moved into Longmont in 1940, to make this his home for more than ten years. The past five years, however, he had been confined to a hospital in Boulder for treatment.
His wife, Lettie L. died March 26, 1949.
Surviving relatives are two sons, Harold L. of Colorado Springs and John W Hidy of Phoenix, Arizona: One brother Charles Hidy of Fairfield, Iowa: four grandchildren and five great grandchildren
