The funeral of Anna M. CAMPBELL was held Sunday at four p.m., from the W. C. BALL residence. Burial was in Evergreen cemetery,.
Anna Margaret CAMPBELL, daughter of John and Eliza TEMPLETON CAMPBELL was born in Jefferson county, Iowa, March 27th, 1860. She lived in Faidfield (sic) during early life attending school at the old Franklin building, completing her course through the Junior year at Parsons College with the class of 1880. When a loved teacher, Dr. Alex Wilson went to Lake Forest Seminary, near Chicago, she accompanied him and graduated there. Following her graduation she taught in the Fairfield schools for several years and also in the Washington high school, from which position she resigned to hurry to California in order to care for the twin babies of her brother, Edward. Here she passed eleven years taking the place of a mother in the home. Upon her return to Fairfield she entered the Moody bible School in Chicago, to prepare for Y. W. C. A. work. To this beloved work she gave the last eighteen years of her life, being in Cleveland, Ohio.
She was a sincere Christian, having given her heart to her Savior in youth and uniting with the Presbyterian church at Fairfield. Her heart was wrapped up in the religious and social developments of the thousands of foreign girls in the factories of Cleveland among whom she spent the time. Failing health complied her to relinquish this labor of love in June. From that time she had been an uncomplaining sufferer until called home last Frirday morning, Sept. 5th, at 10:45, when there closed upon this earth a beautiful and useful life.
She is survived by one sister Mrs. W. C. BALL and three brothers Edgar and Robert CAMPBELL of California, and Frank CAMPBELL of Central City, Nebraska.
