Body of Mrs. BYRON Will Be Brought To Fairfield

Mrs. James C. BYRON, 712 N. Fifth street, Burlington, died Tuesday afternoon, May 16, shortly after four at Mercy hospital, where she had been a patient less than a week, following a period of failing health.

Mrs. BYRON formerly Joanna McNAMARA, was born in Burlington, moving to Fairfield, Iowa when a child. She returned to Burlington where she made her home since her marriage to Mr. BYRON some 55 years ago.

During her residence there Mrs. BYRON was a faithful member of St. Paul's Catholic church and active in parish affairs. In her social life she was known as a gregarious matron and had a wide circle of friends, who found pleasure in partaking of her fine hospitality. By these she will be sincerely mourned.

Surviving Mrs. BYRON are her husband; a daughter, Mrs. Paul T. McGANNON; and three sisters, Mrs. John T. SHEAHAN, Moberly, Missouri, Mrs. Frank DROZ and Miss Agnes McNAMARA, Fairfield.

The body of Mrs. BYRON was taken to the family home from Prugh's chapel. The funeral mass was celebrated at St. Paul's church in Burlington at nine o'clock Friday morning, May 19 with interment in Evergreen cemetery in Fairfield. The rosary was recited at the home at 7:30 o'clock Thursday evening.
