IN MEMORIAM.

Whereas, God, in His inscrutable wisdom, has called from our midst one of our number, Prof. BURWELL, who departed this life on Saturday, Aug. 3d, at 2 o'clock A.M.,

Resolved, 1. That we, the teachers of Jefferson county, express our deep senses of regret at the loss of so worthy, talented and accomplished a co-worker.

2. That we tender our warmest sympathy to that bereaved sister in this the hour of her deep affliction.

3. That we acknowledge, with the friends in general, the loss of an associate whose influence and example has always been in the side of right.

4. That these resolutions be printed in the city papers, and copies be presented to the bereaved ones.
