A memorial service for Roberta E. BURNS will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Raymond Funeral Home. Interment of her cremated remains will be in Evergreen Cemetery.
Miss BURNS, 74, died Jan. 23, 1990, at Stevens Hospital in Edmonds, Wash., following a brief illness.
She was born Jan. 2, 1916, the daughter of Robert and Esther BURNS. She was a graduate of Ottumwa High School and Parsons College. Miss BURNS taught in Iowa high schools, including Donnellson and Knoxville.
During World War II she taught radio transmission at the Souix Falls, S.D., armed services air base. She later worked at several radio stations and at Collins Radio, now Rockwell Collins, in Cedar Rapids.
At retirement she moved to Seattle and became a licensed real estate agent. She was a member of the Davis Street Christian Church in Ottumwa.
Survivors include a number of cousins.
