L. BURNETT PASSES AWAY

Mr. Lewis Leslie BURNETT, 72, passed away about 3:30 yesterday afternoon at his home here in Libertyville. His health had been failing for the past three years, but became seriousl yill (sic) on Monday.

He was born April 18, 1873, in Carmen, Ill., but moved soon after to Jefferson county where he spent the rest of his life. Two years ago he moved from the County Home neighborhood to Libertyville. He was a member of the Brethren church near Libertyville.

He is survived by his wife, four daughters, Mrs. Dora LENZ, West Liberty; Mrs. Frances SCHUESSLER, Lone Tree; Mrs. Eunice CLINE, Batavia; and Mr. (sic - Mrs.) Rachael MEEKER, Ottumwa; three sons, Richard of Agency, Cecil of Wilton Junction, and Chester H. at home. One son Samuel preceded him in death on August 4, 1927. Also surviving are eight grandchildren and two sisters, Mrs. Wilda SCOTT, Dallas City, Ill.; Mrs. Mame BABCOCK, Gladstone, Ill; and two brothers, Alvin Lee BURNETT, Rock Island, Ill., and Walter BURNETT, Carmen, Ill.

Servicse will be held at the Hoskins funeral home Sunday at one o'clock. Interment will be in Evergreen cemetery.
