Isaac Newton BRYAN is Dead.

Isaac Newton BRYAN died at his home on West Broadway yesterday afternoon at 4 o'clock, after a lingering illness. In the early part of last June Mr. BRYAN was attacked with a stroke of paralysis, which slowly but surely sapped out his life.

Deceased was born in Ross county, Ohio, April 16, 1838 and moved with his parents to this county in 1849. February 20, 1868 (sic - 1862), he was united in marriage to Miss Jennetta GOW, who lived near this city.

To this union were born seven children, John, Bert and James of this city; Frank and Mrs. Eva SCOTT, who live northwest of this city(;) Alfred of Creston and Mrs. Winnie WEST of Clarkes, Nebraska, all of whom with the aged wife survive him.

Funeral services will be held tomorrow afternoon at the family residence at 2 o'clock conducted by Rev. Thomas Osborn.

Died After Lingering Illness.

Isaac Newton BRYAN died at his home on West Broadway Friday. He was stricken with paralysis early in June, and never recovered from the attack. Mr. BRYAN was a son of the late Robert BRYAN, a pioneer settler of Jefferson county. He was born in Ross county, O., April 16th, 1838, and came to this county with his parents in 1849. He grew to manhood in Fairfield township, but was a resident of Blackhawk for many years. He has been a resident of Fairfield since 1902. Mr. BRYAN was married to Janette GOW in this county February 20th, 1862. They were the parents of seven children, all of whom are living. J.T., S.F., B.B., James E. BRYAN and Mrs. F. L. SCOTT reside in this county, Al. at Creston and Mrs. W. S. WEST at Clarks, Neb. Mr. BRYAN was a prosperous and progressive farmer for many years, a man of industrious habits and excellent character. He had much sympathy during his lingering illness and there are many friends throughout the county who will sorrow at his death. The body was interred Sunday afternoon, the funeral services being conducted by Rev. Thomas Osborn.

Death of I. Newton BRYAN.

Isaac Newton BRYAN, the son of Robert and Harriet BRYAN, was born in Ross county, Ohio, April 16, 1838. He came to Fairfield township, Jefferson county, Iowa, in 1849, with his parents. He was married to Janette GOW, February 20, 1862. To this union there were born seven children, all of whom are living. After his marriage he resided on a farm in Blackhawk township until Feb. 27, 1901, when he moved to Fairfield. He suffered from a stroke of paralysis for some months and finally passed to rest Jan. 27, 1905.

The funeral services were held at the family residence, Sunday, Jan. 29, at 2 p.m. conducted by Rev. Thos. Osborn of the M. E. church.

In the death of Newton BRYAN we loose (sic) one of our best citizens. He was one of nature's noblemen, broad of mind and heart, honest and kind to a fault. Newton BRYAN has led an exemplary life and reared a family of children who will ever be a credit to his name. Were all men as true to themselves and to others as was he, this would indeed by a happy world to live in. May he rest in peace, and may others emulate the example he leaves them of a useful life well spent.
