Death of Mrs. BRYAN.
Harriet, wife of Robert BRYAN, died at the home of her daughter Mrs. S. K. WEST, in this city Saturday. The remains were interred in the Evergreen cemetery Sunday afternoon, Rev. J. A. Boatman conducting the funeral services. Harriet McCLELLAND was born in Ross county, Ohio, October 5th, 1812, and grew to womanhood and was married there in 1832. The family removed to Jefferson county in 1849, and located on a farm seven miles northwest of this city which it yet owns. Mrs. BRYAN was the mother of six children, five of whom, with the aged husband, survive her. I. N. BRYAN, Mrs. J. P. RAMSAY and Mrs. S. K. WEST live in this county; J. M. BRYAN at Smith Flat, Cal.; and A. M. BRYAN at Gilman, Col. In the neighborhood in this county in which this good woman spent so much of her life she was loved and esteemed by all who knew her, and there are many friends throughout the county who will mourn her death and sorrow with the family in its hours of bereavement. Mrs. BRYAN had been in ill health for several years, and for two years past had been confined to her room.

After a long and useful life, Mrs. Robert BRYAN died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. S. K. WEST, in this city, las Saturday morning at nine o'clock. She had been in poor health for several years, and lately had grown quite dependant (sic) on those about her. Mrs. BRYAN's maiden name was Harriet McCLELLAND (sic - McCLELLAN), and she was born in Ross county, Ohio, October 5, 1812. In 1832 she was married to Robert BRYAN, Ross county continuing as their home. In the fall of 1849, in company with her husband, she removed to this state, locating on a farm seven miles northwest of Fairfield. She was the mother of six children, all of whom are still living but one, E. A. BRYAN, who died recently in St. Louis. The others are Mrs. Elizabeth RAMSAY, I. N. BRYAN and Mrs. S. K. WEST, all of this county; J. M. BRYAN, of Smith's Flat, California; and A. N. BRYAN, of Gilman, Colorado. The husband of nearly three quarters of a century is still left. The funeral was held Sunday afternoon at two o'clock.
