June 03, 2005Helen L. Tedrow, 86, formerly of Cantril, died at 3:15 a.m. today, Friday, June 3, 2005, at Van Buren Good Samaritan Center in Keosauqua, where she resided since 1996.
The funeral is scheduled for 10:30 a.m. Monday at Cantril United Methodist Church. Burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery in Cantril.
Visitation will begin at 2 p.m. with the family present from 7-8 p.m. Sunday at Pedrick Funeral Home in Keosauqua.
Memorials may be made to Cantril Waubonsie Campgrounds or Cantril Public Library and left at the funeral home or mailed to the family at PO Box 231, Cantril 52542.
Mrs. Tedrow was born June 10, 1918, near Cantril, the daughter of Lester and Sina Clark Fisher. She married Roy A. Tedrow April 30, 1939, at Corning. He died July 12, 1998.
She graduated from Cantril High School. She was a farm homemaker in the Cantril community, worked at Cantril Locker and several retail stores in Cantril.
She was a bowler and a sports fan. She played softball on the Cantril Women's Team until she was 50.
She attended local and area dances with her husband.
Survivors include one son, Wayne "Bruzz" Tedrow and wife Shirley of Cantril; her stepmother, Willa Jamison of New London; one half-sister, Marcia McLeland of Denmark; two grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; two step-great-grandchildren; one step-great-great-grandchild.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Ruth Hunter.
