Mr. BRIGHTON returned to Fairfield less than ten days ago after several years absence in the west, coming to Fairfield direct from Billings, Montana.

A number of years ago Mr. BRIGHTON went to Washington, D. C. where he was in the employ of the government. Later he went to Spokane, Wash., where he spent several years in the government service.
The past two years he had spent in Billings, Mont., and during that time his health has gradually broken. He is survived by his brother Lincoln in Colorado and his sister, Mrs. John FRUSH of this city. There have been no arrangements made for the funeral but it will probably be held Thursday.
