Mrs. Albert BRIER.

After an illness extending over a period of more than a year, Mrs. Albert BRIER passed away at her home on East Jefferson street on Sunday afternoon, January 30, death being due to tuberculosis.

Mrs. BRIER has resided in this city during the greater part of her life, and her sweet Christian character and winning manner had endeared her to a large number of friends, who are grieved at her early death. Besides her husband and baby boy, eleven months of age, she leaves a heart-broken father and mother and a step-son and step-daughter, Leslie and Vera, 16 and 17 years of age, all of whom, with other relatives, are receiving the sympathy of every one in their loss.

Mary NEWELL was born Dec. 18, 1868, and has lived in or near the city since early childhood. When a tiny baby only a few hours of age, she was taken into the home of her uncle and aunt, Mr. and Mrs. P. A. LYNCH, of this city, where she grew to womanhood, and where her foster parents showered upon her all the love and tender care that could be shown to an own and only child. On April 20th, 1904, she became the bride of Albert BRIER of this city, and to them was born one child, the baby who is too young to realize his loss. Mrs. BRIER was a devoted member of the Congregationa (sic) church, and an active worker in the W. R. C. of this city. She was also a member of the Rebecca lodge and only recently severed her connection with the Eastern Star, on account of failing health.

Funeral services were held at the residence yesterday afternoon, conducted by Rev. A. G. Graves, and interment made in Evergreen cemetery.
