Illness Fatal To William BRAWNER

William C. BRAWNER, prominent retired farmer and a resident of Jefferson county for the past 60 years, died last night at the Curtis nursing home where he had been a patient since February, 1949.

He had been in failing health the past several years and bedfast since last Tuesday.

Last rites will be Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. at the Hoskins funeral home with Dr. C. R. Douglass in charge. Burial will be in Evergreen cemetery. The family requests no flowers.

William Clifton BRAWNER, 90, was born Oct. 5, 1863, in Illinois, the son of the late William Henry and Mary Elizabeth PATTERSON BRAWNER. He came to Jefferson county 60 years ago and had made his home in this community since.

He was united in marriage on Oct. 1, 1885, to Edna May WOODROW, who preceded him in death on May 19, 1937. After his retirement from the farm the family lived at 900 S. Second street for many years.

Mr. BRAWNER is survived by three grandchildren: Brawner DuBOIS, Burlington; Kathryn DuBOIS, San Fernando, Calif., and Mrs. Gordon COLESON, Burbank, Calif., and a sister, Mrs. Jennie WOODROW, Monrovia, Calif.

In addition to his wife, Mr. BRAWNER was preceded in death by a daughter, Bessie BRAWNER DuBOIS who passed away June 6, 1939. He was the 11th of a family of 14 children.
