Samuel F. BOOKER Is Dead.

Samuel F. BOOKER passed away Sunday about midnight. He had been in ill health for five or six years past from causes incident to advanced age, and his death was not unexpected. Mr. BOOKER came to Jefferson county in 1865 and resided until 1878 on a farm about four miles east of this city. From the latter year until 1889 he resided in Missouri, near Hannibal, returning at that time to Fairfield, where he had since made his home. He was born at St. Clairsville, O., July 14th, 1823, and grew to maturity there. He was married in that place, May 18th, 1848, to Miss Narcissa WILKINS, who survives him. Three children of the family are also living, Mrs. Robert C. SANDS and Mrs. Clara HOWLETT of this county and Charles H. BOOKER of Cleveland, O. Harry F. BOOKER, another son, died in this city a few months ago. Mr. BOOKER was a man of the strictest honesty and the utmost integrity. During the active years of his life he was energetic and industrious in everything he undertook and very successful in all his undertakings. In the two communities in which nearly all his years were spent he was prominently identified with all movements which promised to better them or further their material interests. Many old friends in this vicinity will regret his death and extend sympathy to the bereaved family. The remains were interred this morning at 10 o'clock. Funeral services, conducted by Rev. J. F. Magill of the Presbyterian church, with which denomination Mr. BOOKER had been connected for many years, were held at the family residence on South Main street.
