Death Comes To Ernest BONNETT

RICHLAND -- Ernest R. BONNETT, 85, longtime Jefferson County farmer, died at 6:40 a.m. today at the Jefferson County Hospital in Fairfield. He had been in failing health the past three years, and serious the past three days. He made his home at Richland.

Last rites have been set for 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Raymond Funeral Home in Fairfield with the Rev. Ned Gillum in charge. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery.

Ernest R. BONNETT was born May 21, 1887, at Eldon, the son of David and Sarah SIMONS BONNETT. He was reared and educated in Jefferson County.

His marriage to Ina Belle GANTZ took place Nov. 1, 1927, at Cedar Rapids. She died Oct. 23, 1953. He was later married to Vivian BEERY McCHESNEY June 8, 1954, in Iowa City, who survives.

BONNETT farmed 52 years in Blackhawk Township before moving to Richland eight years ago.

In addition to his wife he is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Marjorie CULLEN, San Bernardino, Calif; three stepchildren, Raymond McCHESNEY, Davenport; Harold McCHESNEY, St. Cloud, Minn.; and Mrs. Shuell JONES, New Orleans, La.; three grandchildren, seven step grandchildren, six step great grandchildren; one half-sister, Mrs. Perry LAKIN, Ruthven.

He was preceded in death by one son and five brothers and sisters.

NOTICE OF PROBATE OF WILL, OF APPOINTMENT OF EXECUTOR, AND NOTICE TO CREDITORS

In The District Court Of The State Of Iowa In And For Jefferson County

In The Matter Of The Estate Of E. R. BONNETT, Deceased.

To All Persons Interested In The Estate Of E. R. BONNETT, Deceased:

You are hereby notified that on the 16th day of October, 1972, the Last Will and Testament of E. R. BONNETT, deceased bearing date of the 15th day of December, 1966, was admitted to probate in the above named Court and that Leona Vivian BONNETT and Marjorie CULLEN were appointed executors of said estate.

Notice is further given that any action to set aside said Will must be brought in the District Court of said County within one year from the date of the second publication of his notice, or thereafter be forever barred.

Notice is further given that all persons indebted to said estate are requested to make immediate payment to the undersigned, and creditors having claims against said estate shall file them with the Clerk of the above named District Court, as provided by law, duly authenticated, for allowance; and unless so filed within six months from the second publication of this notice (unless otherwise allowed or paid) such claim shall thereafter be forever barred.
