DEATH CLAIMS E. R. BONAR, 72

Death came yesterday evening to E. R. BONAR, resident of Fairfield for the past 11 years and in recent years an insurance agent and hybrid seed corn dealer.

Mr. BONAR passed away at 7:15 p.m. last night at the Burlington hospital where he had been a patient since July 11. He had been in ill health for 18 months and seriously ill the past several weeks.

During his illness he had been a patient at the Burlington hospital three times.

Last rites will be Thursday at 2:'30 (sic) p.m. at the Hoskins funeral home with Rev. S. P. Williamson in charge. Burial will be in Evergreen cemetery.

Everly Russell BONAR, 72, was born January 9, 1877 at Birmingham, Iowa. He was the son of the late Daniel K. and Emeline GURWELL BONAR. He was reared and educated in Birmingham.

Mr. BONAR was united in marriage on October 2, 1900, at Pleasant Plain to Ida Cornelia VOGEL. After the death of his first wife in 1933 (sic - 1934), he married Goldie STILL on March 25, 1937, who survives.

He was a farmer until 1938 when he left the farm near Libertyville and moved to Fairfield.

While a resident of this city he was employed at the E. F. Prunty produce firm for several years, and later joined the Gerling Produce company.

In later years he was engaged in the insurance and hybrid seed corn business.

Besides his wife, Mr. BONAR is survived by three daughters: Mrs. Clyde COUNTRYMAN, Douds; Mrs. Gus SPILMAN, Hedrick; and Mrs. Esther FRANCE, Ottumwa. He is also survived by seven grandchildren, two great grandchildren, and 14 grand nieces and nephews.
