GEORGE BLUNDEN DIED LAST NIGHT

George BLUNDEN passed away last evening at 9:45 o'clock at his home on West Grimes street after a few days illness. He had only been ill since last Wednesday and his death comes as a great shock to the relatives and friends.

The funeral services will be held tomorrow afternoon at two o'clock from the late residence in charge of Rev. A. R. Toothacre. The remains will be laid to rest in Evergreen cemetery.

Mr. BLUNDEN was born in Sussax (sic - Sussex) county, England, September 18, 1860, and was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Edward BLUNDEN.

When about seventeen years of age he came to this country, locating in Ohio, and later he moved to Iowa. For the past thirteen years he has been a resident of Fairfield and for some time had been a faithful employee of the Public Service Company.

September 22, 1900, he was united in marriage to Mrs. ARNETT (sic - Ida COOK ARNETT) who is left to mourn his loss.

He is survived by two step children, Mrs. Etta GUSTISON and Miss Leona ARNETT. His nephew Wm. SMITH of England, has made his home with them for the past year, One brother and two sisters also survive him, Ted BLUNDEN of London, England, Mrs. Sarah SMITH of Amberly, England, and Mrs. Jane STRATFORD of Somerton, England.

He was a member of the Baptist church throughout his life and has been affiliated with the Modern Woodman Lodge for a number of years.
