SCALDING CAUSED DEATH
Three Year Old Daughter of John BLOUGH Dies Morning

Many friends will be shocked to learn of the death of little Mary Anna Elizwbeth (sic) BLOUGH which occured at the home of her father John D. BLOUGH in Seymour this morning at 8:30 o'clock (note: in Wayne Co., IA). Her death was due to the terrible burns she received Wednesday morning when she fell backward into a tub of scalding water.

The little girl was born November t9h (sic - 9th), 1909, and at her birth lost her mother. She was born in Seymour but soon afterward Mr. BLOUGH moved to this city and here himself and children resided until in March of this year when they again moved to Seymour. Miss Helen BLOUGH, a student at Parsons College left school for a time and tried to take her mother's place to her baby sister.

The little one was frail for a time but for the past two years had enjoyed good health and had become the light of the BLOUGH home. She was a bright and unusually attractive child and easily won her way into the hearts of all with whom she came in contact.

The little girl is survived by her father, one sister Miss Helen, and one brother Henry BLOUGH, and a host of other relatives and friends. The funeral party will arrive in this city this afternoon at five o'clock and go to the home of Mr. and Mrs. Louis MESSER on West Broadway, who are grandparents. The funeral services will be held tomorrow afternoon at three o'clock by Rev. W. A. Wolgemuth, pastor of the First Lutheran church. The interrment will be in Evergreen cemetery.
