Charles BLAKELEY, 94, lifetime resident of Jefferson County, died at 5:15 p.m. at his home, 503 W. Jefferson.
Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at the Faith Baptist Church with the Rev. Paul Vaughan officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery.
There will be open visitation and memorials may be made to the Faith Baptist Church and the American Lung Association.
BLAKELEY had been employed at the Fairfield Post Office for 30 years prior to his retirement.
Charles BLAKELEY was born May 11, 1890, in Jefferson County. He was the son of Oscar and Clara TURNAM (sic - TURNHAM) BLAKELEY. He married Zella NOTT June 27, 1912. She died Aug. 1, 1958 (sic - Oct. 1, 1958).
His marriage to Etta GRAY took place Jan. 25, 1964. She survives.
He is also survived by a son, William BLAKELEY, Bettendorf; two daughters, Doris CARLSON, Whittier, Calif., Barbara MYERS, Fairfield; a stepson, Al GRAY who resides in Pennsylvania.
Other survivors include six grandchildren, two step-grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild; a sister, Lula BRERETON, Sigourney; and a brother, Carl BLAKELEY, Yuma, Ariz. He was preceded in death by eight brothers and a sister.

BLAKELEY was preceded in death by a son, Everett, whose name was omitted in the article which appeared in Tuesday's Ledger.
