Death Claims John M. BLAIR

John M. BLAIR, retired farmer and land appraiser, died at 1:52 a.m. today at his home at 102 S. Fourth St. He had been seriously ill since suffering a stroke Tuesday while on a visit to his farm north of Fairfield.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m. at the First Methodist church. Rites will be conducted by Dr. J. Henry Teele, assisted by the Rev. Edwin Beach. The body will be taken from the Weston Behner funeral home to the church at 1 p.m. Burial will be in Evergreen cemetery.

BLAIR was born May 5, 1877 at Bennett, Iowa, the son of George and Mary Elizabeth KESSLER BLAIR. He was married to Edith ARGO Feb. 13, 1902. BLAIR began farming in Jefferson county in 1912 and moved to Fairfield in 1929. He managed Parsons college farms for 16 years.

BLAIR is survived by his wife, one son, George R. BLAIR, Minneapolis, Minn., four grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. A brother, C. F. BLAIR, Tipton, also survives.

BLAIR was a member of the Methodist church. He was preceded in death by one son, two sisters and a brother.
