S. T. BIDDLE DIES; SICK SIX MONTHS
Old-Time School Teacher and Spanish-American War Veteran Passed Away Today

Sidney T. BIDDLE, old-time school teacher, Spanish War veteran and resident of Fairfield for 27 years, died at his home, 803 West Broadway, this morning at 8:50 oclock. He had been in failing health since March, and seriously ill for two weeks.

No funeral arrangements had been made this afternoon, awaiting the arrival of his daughter, Mrs. Ralph REED of Salina, Kans.

Mr. BIDDLE was born in Galesburg, Ill., February 2, 1865. He was educated in the schools of Illinois and began as a young man to teach school, following that profession until his health began to fail two years ago. Since then he had been working at the Dexter Manufacturing company.

He married Miss Mary HARPER, March 8, 1899 and she with the one daughter survive.

Mr. BIDDLE was a member of the Odd Fellows lodge and the Spanish-American war veterans.

At 2 O'clock from the Butler Funeral Home; Burial At Evergreen

Funeral services for Sidney T. BIDDLE, who passed away yesterday morning at 8:50 oclock at his home 803 West Broadway, will be held tomorrow afternoon at 2 oclock from the Butler funeral home.

Rev. R. H. Polly of the Christian church will conduct the last rites and interment will be made in Evergreen cemetery.

SIDNEY BIDDLE RITES SUNDAY
At 2 O'clock from the Butler Funeral Home In Charge of Rev. Polly

The last rites for Sidney BIDDLE, who died Friday morning at his home, 803 West Broadway, were held Sunday afternoon at 2 oclock from the Butler Funeral home. Rev. R. H. Polly officiated and many friends and relatives paid their last respect at this time.

Miss Mary Stever and Mrs. Norvell Switzer sang the songs with Miss Reva Patten at the piano. Frank McFarland, Roll J. Ireland, Wm. A. Brown, John Kyle, Frank Higby and William Phipps acted as pall bearers. Burial was made in Evergreen cemetery.

OBITUARY

S. T. BIDDLE

Sidney Theodore BIDDLE, old time school teacher, Spanish American War Veteran, and resident of Fairfield for 27 years, died at his home, 803
West Broadway, September 14 at 8:50 a.m. He had been in failing health since last March but was not considered in a critical condition until the night before his death.

Mr. BIDDLE was born in Galesburg Illinois, February 2 1865. His boyhood days were spent in Illinois and Kentucky. As a young man he went to Nebraska where he studied in the Normal School at O'Neill. For more than 30 years he taught in the schools of Nebraska and Iowa until his health beginning to fail, he was unable to continue in his chosen profession. From that time on he was employed by the Dexter Manufacturing company.

On March 8, 1899, he married Miss Mary HARPER, who survives him. He also leaves one daughter, Mrs. Ralph REED of Salina Kansas, her two children Jean 7 and James Sidney, 5, one sister, Mrs. Anna BURRIS of Oregon City, Oregon and two brothers, one John Fremont BIDDLE of Lacona Iowa, and the other Perry BIDDLE of De Funiak Springs Florida. One sister, Elvira, preceded him in death.

Mr. BIDDLE was for many years a faithful members (sic) of the Methodist church and Sunday School. He was also a member of the Odd Fellows Lodge, and of the Spanish America War Veterans, in both of which organization he was a loyal worker.

Funeral services were conducted from the Butler funeral home, Sunday afternoon at two oclock in charge of Rev. R. H. Polly. Mrs. Norvell Switzer and Miss Mary Stever, accompanied by Miss Reva Patten sang "Over the Tide," "No Night There" and "Does Jesus Care?" The Odd Fellows had charge of the burial service. Interment was in Evergreen cemetery.
