A. L. BERRAY DIES SUDDENLY HERE SUNDAY
Services to be held on Sunday afternoon for Fairfield resident

Ansel L. BERRAY, 68, resident of Fairfield for the past 20 years, passed away suddenly Sunday morning about 5:30 o'clock, at the Jefferson County Hospital. Mr. BERRAY was stricken ill suddenly, about 2 o'clock Sunday morning. Taken to the hospital about 4:30 o'clock, he died an hour later.

Funeral services will be held at the Hoskins Funeral Home Tuesday morning at 10 o'clock in charge of Rev. S. P. Williamson. Burial will be in Evergreen cemetery.

Surviving are his wife, and one sister, Mrs. Mabel DELANO, of Jasper, Mich. For a number of years Mr. BERRAY was connected with the Watson Business College when it was conducted in this city.

OBITUARY

ANSEL L. BERRAY

Ansel L. BERRAY was born at Randolph N. Y. on June 6, 1873. He passed away at Fairfield, Iowa on Sunday, June 29, 1941 when past 68 years of age.

On Feb. 15, 1933 he was married to Mrs. Ella BATES and has lived most happily in this union since. His sorrowing wife and one sister, Mrs. Mable DELANO of Jasper, Michigan are the only survivors.

Mr. BERRAY has travelled widely and finally settled in Fairfield about 20 years ago when associated with the Watson Business College. He was an active member of the First Christian church of Fairfield and at the time of his death was president of the Men's Class of the Church School. Kindly and quiet in all of his dealing he was loved and respected by all who knew him. His end was very unexpected. Taken suddenly ill at 3 o'clock on Sunday morning he passed away at 5:30 in the Jefferson County Hospital.

Funeral services were held from the Mark Hoskins Funeral Home last Tuesday conducted by S. P. Williamson, minister of the First Christian church. The hymns were sung by Mrs. Williamson with Mrs. William Stever at the piano. Pall bearers were Clayton Smith, Anderson Patton, H. D. Hiatt, Carl Tygert, Jake Stokesberry and John Winters. The remains were interred in Evergreen cemetery.
