Charles T. BERG rites Saturday

Charles T. BERG, 83, 405 S. Court, died at 3:20 a.m. today at the Jefferson County Hospital.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the First Lutheran Church with the Rev. Keith Lingwall officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery.

Friends may call at the Behner Funeral Home after noon Friday. Memorials may be made to the First Lutheran Church.

Charles T. BERG was born July 28, 1901, in Holdredge, Nebr., the son of Henry August and Amelia WOMELSDORF BERG. He was married to Florence J. ARMSTRONG April 16, 1924 at the home of the bride's parents. She survives.

BERG was a resident of Fairfield for 80 years. He was employed as a custodian for the Fairfield School District for 20 years and the First Lutheran Church for 12 years before his retirement in 1978. He was a member of the First Lutheran Church.

In addition to his widow Charles BERG is survived by a daughter, Juanita LOCK, Smithville, Mo.; a son, Carl E. BERG, Fairfield; three grandchildren, Thomas LOCK, Gladstone, Mo.; Steven C. BERG, Minneapolis, Minn.; Susan BERG, Fairfield; and a sister, Clara LIGGETT, Fairfield.

BERG was preceded in death by one son and four brothers.
