DIED.

BELL.--Nov. 2d, 1871, Willard Alonzo BELL, son of Thomas and Leonora BELL, aged 5 years and 2 months.

Little Lonnie was a bright, active and playful child of winsome way, a kind and generous disposition. He had just entered school and was very fond of his books, and showed himself very apt to learn; so full of promise his fond parents and friends justly expected for him a radiant and useful future upon earth. But alas! suddenly the bud is broken from the stem and the unfolded blossom of hope falls amid dimming tears back to dust. After a struggle of three days with disease of the throat, his little spirit broke from the casket of clay, and amid guiding angels went back to Him who gave it.

O, rapacious death, insatiate monster, fierce vampyre whose abysmal maw swallows up forever earth's most beautiful, most loved treasures, is there no hiding place from thy power, no bright home through whose portals thou canst not enter? Out of the emptied tomb of Jesus I hear, "O death where is thy sting? O grave where is thy victory?" "And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain."

"And these now rising from the tomb,
With lustre brighter far shall shine,
Revive with ever during bloom,
Safe from diseases and decline."
