LAID TO REST IN THIS CITY

The remains of Mrs. Thomas BELL who died at Los Angeles, California, arrived in the city today at 2:17 p.m. and were immediately taken to Evergreen cemetery where short funeral services were conducted by Dr. A. H. Lathrop, pastor of the First Methodist church.

The remains were accompanied to this city by her son and daughter Hubert and Florence of that city.

Mr. and Mrs. Ed BELL of Cameron, Mo., also arrived here to a-ttend (sic) the funeral.

MRS. THOS. BELL BURIED HERE YESTERDAY

The body of Mrs. Thomas BELL who died at Los Angeles, Calif., last Saturday arrived in the city yesterday afternoon on No. 6 and was taken to the cemetery immediately where short services were conducted by Dr. Lathrop of the M. E. church.

Mrs. BELL is survived by four children, Frank, Hubert and Florence of Los Angeles and Ed of Cameron, Mo. All the children but Frank were able to be here for the funeral.

Note: Buried in Lot Old.P.099 with husband Thomas who died in 1903. There is no birthdate on Leonora's stone, only a death date. Various federal census indicate her birth year to be somewhere between 1846 and 1848; the 1900 census is the only one to ask for adults' birth month, and Leonora's entry notes July, 1846. Several of the censuses point toward 1847 as a more likely year of birth. Even her marriage record does not indicate the age of either her or Thomas; they were married April 29, 1864, in Des Moines Co., IA.
