Leona Gertrude BATES

Mrs. Leona Gertrude BATES, 87, of 2126 S. Third, died in Burlington Medical Center at 2:05 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 9 (note: in Des Moines Co., IA).

She was born Sept. 5, 1897, at Sedalia, Mo., to Eugene and Ida Cook ARNETT BLUNDER. She married Myron Lawrence BATES April 12, 1919, in Davenport; he died Sept. 1, 1982.

Mrs. BATES was a member of Asbury United Methodist Church.

Surviving: A niece, Pauline EVANS, Marion, and a cousin, Leona HARNESS, Fairfield.

Funeral: 1 p.m. Friday at Asbury United Methodist Church, the Rev. Harold E. Werley; Evergreen Cemetery, Fairfield. A memorial to the Asbury Church has been established.

Services for Mrs. Leona Gertrude BATES, who passed away January 9, 1985, will be held at Asbury United Methodist Church at one o'clock Friday afternoon, the Rev. Mr. Harold E. Werley officiating. Interment will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Fairfield, Iowa. The family will receive friends at Prugh's Chapel between seven and 8:30 o'clock this evening. A Memorial has been established for Asbury United Methodist Church.

OF APPOINTMENT OF EXECUTOR
AND NOTICE TO CREDITORS

TO ALL PERSONS INTERESTED IN THE ESTATE OF LEONA G. BATES, Deceased who died on or about January 9, 1985:

You are hereby notified that on the 15 day of January, 1985, the last will and testament of LEONA G. BATES, deceased, bearing date of the 21 day of May, 1984, was admitted to probate in the above named court and that Farmers and Merchants Bank and Trust was appointed executor of said estate.

Any action to set aside the will must be brought in the district court of said county within four moths from the date of the second publication of this notice, or thereafter be forever barred.

Notice is hereby given that all persons indebted to the estate are requested to make immediate payment to the undersigned, and creditors having claims against the estate shall file them with the clerk of the above named district court, as provided by law, duly authenticated, for allowance; and unless so filed within four months from the second publication of this notice (unless otherwise allowed or paid) a claim is thereafter forever barred.
