Page 4, Column 1W. A. BARTOM (sic - BARTON) DIED AT SALIDA COLO.
William A. BARTON, a former well known resident of Fairfield, died at Salida, Colo., yesterday morning after an illness of a few months. The remains will be brought here for burial ,arriving (sic) Friday afternoon and the funeral will be held from the residence of John BARTHOLOMEW Saturday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock.
Mr. BARTON was born in Ohio and was 71 years of age. He leaves three sons, Thomas and William A. of Estherville Harry R., who lives in Washington Sue M. and Minnie of Salida, Colo. A brother, Rev BARTON lives in Ottumwa and a sister, Mrs. Jennie GILHAM in LeGrande, Oregon.
Mr. BARTON was long a resident of Jefferson county, living on the same farm three miles southeast of Fairfield for years. In 1893 the family moved to Estherville, Iowa, where they have since resided. Mr. and Mrs. BARTON had gone to Salida to spend the winter with their daughters who are teaching in the schools there.

… Wm. BARTON, at one time a resident of Fairfield, died at Salida, Colorado, on Wednesday morning after an illness of several months. He is survived by his wife and five children. The body will arrive today and the funeral will be held at the home of Mr. and Mrs. John BARTHOLOMEW tomorrow afternoon.
