Frank A. BARTON

KEOSAUQUA -- Frank A. BARTON, 81, former Keosauqua resident, died at 2:20 p.m. Friday, May 14, 1993, at Burlington Medical Center in Burlington (note: in Des Moines Co., IA).

A memorial service will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Klein Unit Chapel at 2910 Madison Ave., Burlington, with the Rev. Shirley Bliven officiating. Following cremation, the ashes will be buried in Evergreen Cemetery in Fairfield. Raymond Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

BARTON was born Sept. 18, 1911, at Wendell, Idaho, the son of Burton and Mary BEST BARTON. He grew up in Idaho and lived in Twin Falls, Idaho, until entering the U.S. Marine Corps, serving during World War II. He married Cleo ORRIS on July 9, 1938, in Reno, Nev. He was a retired postal supervisor and had worked in the post office in Washington, D.C., and lived in Falls Church, Va., for 15 years. The couple lived in the Keosauqua community for 18 years before moving to the Klein Unit Nursing Center in Burlington, where they currently made their home.

Surviving are his wife and sister Kathleen HALL of Boise, Idaho. A sister and four brothers preceded him in death.
