J. BARTHOLOMEW DIED YESTERDAY
Following A Serious Operation; Funeral Services On Sunday At 2:30

John BARTHOLOMEW, aged 84 years, one of the oldest residents who was born here and who spent nearly all of his life in this city, died yesterday afternoon at 4:30 oclock at the Jefferson County hospital, where he underwent a very serious operation last week. The funeral services will be held Sunday afternoon at 2:30 oclock from the Presbyterian church in charge of Dr. Gilbert Voorhies. Interment will be made in Evergreen cemetery, where the K. of P's will have charge of the services.

Mr. BARTHOLOMEW, was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas BARTHOLOMEW and he was born Dec. 25, 1842 in this city in the house which many years ago stood where the Fairfield Lumber company now is located. He was married to Miss Lizzie THOMA, who died in 1913. He is the last of his immediate family and is survived by several nieces and nephews who are living in the west.
