Death of Guy W. BARNES.

Guy W. BARNES was born in Fairfield, Iowa, September 1, 1866, and died at Omaha, Nebraska, July 18, 1907, in the 41st year of his life. The body was brought to this city for burial.

When eleven years of age his parents moved to Kansas. In the month of July, 1889, he was united in marriage with Miss Emma OSBORN, of Pawnee, Nebraska. Mr. BARNES was a telegrapher, and for the greater part of his active life was in the employ of the B. & M. and C., R. I. & P. railways, in Nebraska. When quite young he united with the M. E. church and remained a devoted member until called to his reward. Mr. BARNES was a strong advocate of the cause of temperance, and lost no opportunity to give his voice and vote for the suppression of the liquor traffic. He was identified with three secret orders, the I. O. O. F., M. W. of A., and the Order of Railway Conductors. The funeral was held Friday from the residence of Mrs. BRANSON, on South Third street, who is a sister of Mr. BARNES, funeral services being conducted by Rev. T. S. Pool. Interment was made in Evergreen cefetery (sic).

Buried

Guy W. BARNES passed away at an early hour Thursday morning in the hospital at Omaha, Nebraska, where he was taking treatments for heart trouble.

Mr. BARNES was an agent for the Rock Island Railway Co., at Richfield, Neb. He is survived by his aged father, Samuel BARNES and three sisters, Mrs. Georgia YOUNG of Des Moines, Mrs. Fanny JUDD, of Kanawha, and Mrs. Maggie BRANSON of this city and his wife who has the sympathies of hosts of friends of the family in her bereavement; Mr. BARNES was a member of the I. O. O. F. and M. W. A. orders, the former having charge of the funeral services at the cemetry (sic).

Obituary.

Guy W. BARNES was born in Fairfield, Ia.' Sept. 1st, 1866 (sic), and died at Omaha, Neb., Thursday, July 18, 1907. When he was eleven years of age his parents moved to Kansas where he grew to manhood. In the month of July, 1889, he was united in marriage with Miss Emma OSBORN of Pawnee, Neb. Mr. BARNES was a telegrapher and for the greater part of his active life he was employed by the B. & M. and C. R. I. & P. in the state of Nebraska. When quite young he united with the M. E. church and remained a devoted Christian until taken to his reward. Mr. BARNES was a sincere advocate of the cause of temperance and lost no opportunity to give his voice and vote for the absolute suppression of the liquor traffic. He was a member of the I. O. O. F. and the Modern Woodmen and the Railway Telegraphers. The funeral was held from the residence of his sister, Mrs. BRANSON, conducted by Rev. T. S. Pool on Friday July 14th (sic - 26th?). Interment at Evergreen cemetery.
