DEATH CLAIMS R. L. BARBER, 55

Robert L. BARBER, 55, local auto mechanic and parts man, died shortly before noon today at the Jefferson county hospital. He had been ill since June 15 and a hospital patient since last Friday.

The body is at the Hoskins funeral home where last rites are pending.

BARBER, who resided at 507 South B street, spent most of his life in Fairfield. He was born near Bloomfield, Dec. 12, 1896, the son of John D. and Margaret SHIPLER BARBER.

He was married here 39 years ago to the former Eva REED.

Survivors include his wife and the following children: Mrs. Roy THOMAS, Saginaw, Mich.; John E. BARBER, Robert BARBER, Leo BARBER, Mrs. Howard WINTERS and Mrs. Jim BRADLEY, all of Fairfield.

Also surviving are 11 grandchildren and four brothers and sisters: Warren BARBER, Gary, Ind.; Samuel BARBER, Libertyville; Mrs. Claude BELLAMY, Galesburg, Ill., and Kenneth BARBER, Moline, Ill.

Two daughters preceded him in death.

BARBER Funeral To Be Saturday Afternoon

Last rites will be Saturday at 2:30 p.m. for Robert L. BARBER, local auto mechanic and parts man who passed away just before noon yesterday after an illness of several days.

The services will be held at the Hoskins funeral home with Rev. S. P. Williamson in charge. Burial will be in Evergreen cemetery.
