DEATH CLAIMS MARTHA BANTA

Mrs. Martha Bird BANTA, 79, died Saturday night at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Ernest P. BAILEY, in Fairfield. She had been in poor health for the past two months and suffered a heart attack shortly before her death.

Funeral services will be held tomorrow at 2:30 p.m. at the Hoskins funeral home. The Rev. S. P. Williamson will be in charge and burial will be in Evergreen cemetery.

Mrs. BANTA was born Aug. 13, 1869 in Cottonwood, Iowa, the daughter of Ralph and Mary SAMPLE RIGBY. She was married to Oscar A. BANTA October 28, 1891. Her husband preceded her in death in 1930.

Mrs. BANTA was a member of the Cumberland Presbyterian church at Mt. Hamil, joining the Methodist church after she moved to Fairfield. She was also a member of the local Health club.

She is survived by three children, Mrs. Neil RANDALL, Eureka Springs, Ark.; Mrs. Ernest P. BAILEY, Fairfield; and W. Merrill BANTA of Downers Grove, Ill. Two sisters, Mrs. T. E. BUCHER, Mrs. S. C. MEAD, both of Tobias, Neb., and two grandchildren also survive. Another sister, Mrs. J. H. CUMMINGS passed away a year ago.
