GUY G. BAKER DIES AT HOME

Guy Garfield BAKER, lifelong resident of Jefferson county, died last night at his home, 206 E. Lowe. He had been in failing health for the past three years and seriously ill for the past week. He was 69 years old at the time of his death.

the son of George and Asenath ROSS BAKER, Guy G. BAKER was born December 25, 1880 near Fairfield. He has always been a farmer and moved to Fairfield two years ago from a farm northeast of Fairfield, after retiring from active work. He was a member of the Methodist church.

He was married to Maud IRELAND at Brookville February 19, 1902. Survivors are his wife, one son, Merle of Fairfield, two grandchildren, and the following brothers and sisters: Harry BAKER, Charles BAKER, Mrs. Myrtle MOORE, Frank BAKER, all of Fairfield; Mrs. Frank HINSHAW, Richland; Earl BAKER, Libertyville; and Mrs. Ida SHEARER of Breckenridge, Minnesota.

He was preceded in death by two sons, Verle and Lovelle.

The body is at the Hoskins funeral home where services will be held Thursday afternoon at 2 o'clock in charge of the Rev. L. L. Weis. Burial will be in Evergreen cemetery.

… --Mrs. Ruby PATTERSON, Mr. and Mrs. Carl ADAMS and two daughters of Keokuk came to attend the funeral of Guy BAKER Thursday. The two women are sisters of Mrs. BAKER. Mr. and Mrs. Paul IRELAND and Mrs. Joe Mountain of Rock Island were also here.
