21-Year-Old-Son of Mr. and Mrs. Guy G. BAKER; Funeral To Be HereVerle BAKER, one of the twin sons of Mr. and Mrs. Guy G. BAKER of northwest of the city passed away this forenoon at 11:45 oclock at Mt. Pleasant of pneumonia. The parents will accompany the remains here for burial, complete arrangements not being made at this time.
He was born Aug. 8, 1906 (sic - 1905) in this county. Besides the sorrowing parents he is survived by his twin brother Merle (sic - Wilbur Merle). He attended Fairfield High school and was in the junior class until ill health prevented his going.
One brother has preceeded (sic) him in death.

Were Held From the Methodist Church Yesterday Afternoon at 2 O'clockThe last rites for George Verle BAKER, son of Mr. and Mrs. Guy G. BAKER, who passed away Friday, were held yesterday afternoon at 2 oclock from the Methodist church. Rev. W. B. IRELAND of Packwood, assisted by Dr. H. B. Scoles, the local pastor, conducted the services.
Mrs. Charlotte Pierson and Mrs. Dorothy Gow sang very beautifully "Safe in the Arms of Jesus" and "Beautiful Isle of Somewhere." The pallbearers were: Carl Dempsey, Clyde Kraft, Paul Haney, Hal Junkins, Floyd Keltner and Arthur Baker, who were schoolmates of Verle. Interment took place in Evergreen cemetery.

OBITUARY
GEORGE VERLE BAKER
George Verle, son of Guy G. and Elta Maude BAKER, was born in Center township, Jefferson county, Iowa, on August 8th, 1905, and departed this life on March 11, 1927, being at the time of his death aged 21 years, 7 months and 3 days.
Verle attended the country school of this county and enrolled in the Fairfield High school in the fall of 1921. In November, 1924, he was forced to drop out of school on account of ill health and did not complete his course. He was a boy of good habits, made friends easily and was loyal in all the activities of school and community in which he had a part.
He leaves to mourn his loss his father and mother and twin brother, Merle together with numerous relatives and friends. An older brother, Hubert Lorelle, preceded him in death in 1923.
The funeral was held from the First Methodist church on Sunday, March 13th at 2 p.m., conducted by Rev. W. B. IRELAND of Packwood Iowa, who was assisted by Dr. H. B. Scoles the local pastor. Mrs. Charlotte Pierson and Mrs. Dorothy Gow sang very beautifully Safe in the Arms of Jesus" and "Beautiful Isle of Somewhere." The pallbearers were Carl Dempsey, Clyde Kraft, Paul Haney, Hal Junkins, Floyd Keltner and Arthur Baker, who were schoolmates of Verle. Burial was had in Evergreen Cemetery.
