Young Man Summoned At Hospital After Long IllnessJames B. BAILEY, 603 South Fifth street and past 24 years old died last evening at the Jefferson county hospital at 9:25 following an extended illness. Death resulted from nephritis, a disease from which he had suffered for several years.
Young BAILEY, who was born July 21, 1911, is survived by his wife and one son James Boggs Jr., and his parents Mr. and Mrs. Ralph BAILEY, who lives a short distance east of Fairfield. His father is a well known contractor and builder here, and he leaves the following brothers and sisters, Hazel, Leon, Jack Leo Theo and Donald.
He had been seriously ill for three months, having spent one month of that time at the University hospital at Iowa City, Ia. BAILEY was a member of the local National Guard for two years, and served in the regular army at Fort Des Moines, for three years.
The funeral services will be held tomorrow afternoon at 2:00 o'clock at the Hoskins Funeral home in charge of Rev. D. C. Eddy. Burial will be in the Evergreen cemetery here.

His name on the death certificate is clearly James Boggs BAILEY, but on the application for his military headstone it is James Bougs BAILEY (and spelled that way on the stone). His wife's name on the death certificate is difficult to discern due to sloppy penmanship, but appears to be Minerva.
